компютриAs manufacturing jobs flee New York state for 30 years, lawmakers try to entice new manufacturing jobs for the next 10, what fills the gap in Upstate New York for jobs?

Tourism and Gambling

Please watch this 7 minute video about life, economics and the future of our city with or without racing in 2008.

Many of us rely on rental revenue, sales and other sources of income from racing to pay our tax bills, the highest in the nation.

Here are some action item links

Senator Bruno’s Frequently updated website

Governor Spitzer’s frequently updated website that has no info on racing on his home page..hmmm?

We hope this helps everyone in our community move forward toward the best future we can create for ourselves.

Hi folks, I wanted to learn more about new and social media solutions and communities so I went to Boston for Podcamp. It was a very helpful and enlightening experience. The conversations were more focused on the bigger picture of new/social media than on the subset of Podcasting.

I hope you enjoy this behind the scenes, street level production of my experiences at Podcamp.

TheSaratogaShow.com Webcasting Review New York Gov Tech Conf David Pogue Interviews w state workers

We traveled down to Albany this week to check in with the Government Technology Conference.

We also caught some of David Pogue’s comedy based keynote speech on trends in technology.

We provide answers to common questions the government and many others have about technology.

What is webcasting, the lawyers for the agencies where asking, (video and audio distributed through the internet that can be live or pre-recorded), web conferencing (real time interactive online meetings that may include video, audio, text) and podcasting (webcasting plus subscription and download capabilities).

What is New York State’s webcasting initiative? ALL New York State Agency Open Meetings are to be webcasted and captioned. Their goal is to get you to watch these meetings online.

You can view some of these webcasts here

Being that we are in the webcasting industry we thought this would be interesting. It certainly is, expecillay the way NY is doing it.

It is up to each agency to figure it out on their own, while spending our money! Which means the there is great variation in quality and viewing experience. Even for an experienced web youth like myself the interfaces seem confusing. They promised me that things will get better and this is only the first phase.

As always, please email us with comments and suggestions for the The Saratoga Show.
